------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eazitelecom / Limba / Shine Mobile ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GIBRALTAR MOBILE TELECOM OPERATOR ANNOUNCES CLOSE DOWN Limba, the relaunched brand name of the mobile telecom operator Eazitelecom based on Ocean Plaza with a shop in King Street has made the following announcement: "We would like to inform our customers that the company Eazitelecom, trading as Limba, will be ceasing all services and operations as from the 22/02/2019. Since 2012, the board of the company has invested £17million into operations within Gibraltar. Unfortunately, HUAWEI has been unable to provide the technical support it had been commissioned to provide and our company has encountered repeated major technical problems. These problems have made impossible to grow the company's business and reach any profitability, and they have recently led the Gibraltar telecom Regulator to decide a withdrawal of our license. For any customers who wish to keep their current number, you will need to go to Gibtelecom directly and request this from them. There is no need to come to our shop. Once we receive any requests from Gibtelecom, we will authorise swiftly and allow a swift transition/porting which will take up to 24 hours. We would like to sincerely apologise for anybody who is affected by this decision and we are genuinely sad to leave Gibraltar. We have been operating under the name 'Limba' for nearly two years now and have built a strong family-like clientele which has supported us until now. There are no words that can describe how thankful we are for everybody who put their utmost trust and loyalty into our provider even throughout the worst of situations." =========================================== For its part the regulator has issued the following advice It has come to the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority’s attention this morning that Eazi Telecom Ltd trading as Limba will be ceasing operations as from 22nd February 2019. Limba has also published this on social media. Limba is advising customers who wish to keep their current number “to go to Gibtelecom directly and request this from them”. Whilst this is strictly speaking correct, Limba customers should be aware that telephone numbers currently allocated to Limba, that is 629-XXXXX, may experience difficulties in future in respect of making and receiving calls and SMS messages, as well as operating data services. Whilst porting these numbers to Gibtelecom is technically possible, the GRA would strongly suggest that Limba customers consider all options before taking the decision to port. Limba customers are therefore advised to contact alternative, authorised operators as soon as possible to limit any disruption to their telecommunications services
